Acupuncture for Teens
Adolescence marks a significant period where children start to explore independence and discover their identity in the world. However, it can also be a time of considerable confusion as their bodies undergo the transition into adulthood.

Sometimes, teenagers seek support not for a specific condition, but because they are finding the changes that occur during adolescence challenging. Acupuncture can be highly effective in helping ease this transition and provide a smoother path through this period.
In clinic teenagers seek support through...
-
Acne
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
High stress with study and school
-
Digestive problems
-
Ammenorrhea
-
Period pain
-
Sleep
-
Headaches
-
Eating Disorders
One of the wonderful aspects of acupuncture is that it doesn’t require talking, making it an ideal treatment for teens who may not feel comfortable expressing themselves. While I encourage teens to share their feelings if they wish, it’s not essential for the treatment to be effective.

What treatment will be like for a teenager...
Getting to know you and your teen's goals
Before our appointment, please complete an intake form you will find in your emails. This will help me understand your teen’s medical history and your goals for their care. During the initial session, I’ll take the time to get to know your teen and discuss their goals as it is important that they are part of the treatment.
02
Diagnosis and treatment
I’ll use gentle diagnostic methods like checking their pulse, tongue, and abdomen. The treatment will usually involve 2-8 tiny needles that won’t cut the skin. This will depend on the teen's comfort. I may also use cupping or moxibustion. I encourage you to sit in during the initial appointment to help your child feel more at ease.
03
Where to next
Following the session, I’ll create a personalised treatment plan based on your teen’s needs. I may recommend some at-home care, and the frequency of future treatments will depend on their specific condition.
